WP3.AZ3 - International School of Marine Sciences in Venice

Marine science are rapidly evolving in the fields of oceanography, biology and geology. One consequence of this rapid growth driven by technological development is that a host of specialized areas have developed their own languages and jargons. The action aims to realize and start an International School of Marine Sciences, bringing together scientists from all over the world to create interdisciplinary courses where the discussion between specialists of different fields of research on marine systems, from coastal systems to the deep sea will be promoted. The focus of the school covers three main themes: global change, marine resources, natural and human risks. During the year, the school also organizes short courses and workshops on specialized topics open to students interested in working in the Mediterranean region.
