WP2.AZ2 - The science of citizens and citizens and science

This action arises from the need to combine science and society. The eight thousand miles of Italian coasts are well frequented and to promote aggregation of volunteers, distributed along the coast, who watch the sea, bringing everything found during their excursions, could lead to a valuable help in the creation of long-term series.

In this action, the citizens are involved in the Observation System of RITMARE, as currently done, for example in the campaign "Watch out for Jellyfish", increasing the perception of science as a science of its citizens. The action brings together citizens and science and pursue a consistent approach between Science and Society, Science literacy, through scientific coffee, seminars in holiday resorts, at marine authorities located in seaside resorts.
