WP5.AZ1 - Italian Fleet of stand-alone instruments

The Action aims to create an integrated fleet of mobile and multi-sensory platforms. In particular, a fleet of stand-alone commercial instruments (gliders, floats, drifters) is built, in order to constitute a relocatable infrastructure at the serve of the Italian marine and maritime research. Commercial sensors of the latest generation for the measures of physical and biogeochemical parameters are used on some platforms. The fleet is employed in various tests in Italian marine areas in favour of the experimental activities provided by RITMARE. Moreover, the development of particular ad hoc systems is planned to complement the platform, in particular the multiparametric drifter.
