The Action aims to develop and integrate in the measure network an observatory (buoy) that can measure the essential oceanographic variables and study their evolution in relation to atmospheric forcing and air-sea interactions. The expansion of the observational activities to the oceanographic essential climate variables complements the existing atmospheric measurements. Correlative measures are also made on ship or ashore in order to study specific processes (vessel traffic and impact on the Carbon cycle, biogenic particulate). Instrumental developments include both the implementation of instrumentation for the buoy and the implementation of measures on the ground (properties of atmospheric particulate in relation to biogenic sources and transport processes of nutrients), and the implementation of instrumentation on ship for the characterization of carbonaceous particles.
