WP4.AZ1 - Identification of physical, biogeochemical and biological variability of deep water column

The Action quantifies the variability processes of the water column in the open sea, paying particular interest to warming phenomena of deep waters, salinity changes, water acidification, also related to variations in environmental forcing. It analyzes the biological, biochemical and biogeochemical background characteristics at different spatial scales, with high-resolution study of paleoflows, presence of bed forms in specific areas and spatio-temporal variability of biodiversity in deep environment.

Moreover, it identifies the appropriate process indicators and show the optimal measurement strategies.
