WP2.AZ1 - Development of integrated methods for habitat mapping to assess biotic and abiotic resources

The Action focuses on the development of integrated methodologies for deep habitat mapping, that aims to better assess the biotic and abiotic resources, characterize precisely and distribute spatially the deep sea habitats and their biodiversity. It uses non-destructive techniques for investigations of deep macro and mega-fauna of interest for the protection of deep marine habitats; it also consider the characterization and mapping of seamounts, canyons and other special features of the deep marine environment and the fauna associated with them.
