WP5.AZ2 - Analysis and assessment tools for the integrated management and the sustainable development of coastal systems

The Action tends to define a conceptual model for the integrated management and the sustainable development of coastal systems that could be used in the Italian coastal areas, from the five test areas identified in the Subproject.

First of all, the Action identifies the anthropogenic and natural pressures, then it integrates their ecological/environmental indicators with the socio-economic part, in order to assess the economic reliance on the sea and to assess the coastal system sustainability. Within each study area, a selected series of ecosystem goods and services are analyzed and assessed.

The above activities are also used to analyze and assess the development strategies and policies and supports the Action 3 in order to define and implement the DSS.
