WP3.AZ3 - Tsunami early warning system

A tsunami early warning system is designed and implemented, focusing on the Italian coast. It is composed of:

1. seismic network with real-time acquisition;

2. system for rapid data analysis for the characterization of the source parameters;

3. early assessment of the expected tsunami;

4. real-time marine monitoring system based on mareographic and pressure measurements to the seabed, and on real-time automatic recognition algorithms of the signal for tsunamigenic earthquake;

5. alert management and communication.

In collaboration with the Subproject 6, the Action implements education and communication strategies, instructing people how to deal properly with a tsunami.
