WP4.AZ2 - Production of new species of marine invertebrates and vertebrates for Mediterranean aquaculture

The action foresees the study of farming techniques with low environmental impact addressed to the diversification of aquaculture products and the production of marine vertebrates and invertebrates of commercial interest, not yet consolidated in traditional aquaculture practices, in order to increase aquaculture competitiveness, also in relation to the effects of climate change on production. Among the invertebrates species that are niche products are considered, while among the vertebrates a spectrum of products is planned to be tested with particular reference to pelagic species for which have not yet been completely defined reproduction, breeding and monitoring protocols, given the cross-border implications within the Mediterranean.
